Scottish BAFTA-nominated composer Francis Macdonald drums with Teenage Fanclub and makes music for Film & TV.
He has worked with a range of artists in different capacities including Camera Obscura, The Vaselines, Laura Cantrell, Julie Fowlis, Alex Chilton, Robert Forster, Dan Penn, Edwyn Collins, Max Richter, The Cairn String Quartet and Belle & Sebastian.
The Glasgow-based Rogue Orchestra invited Francis to write some music for string orchestra, brass, saxophones and percussion.
A recording of the resulting composition "Lowry" - inspired by the work of the late L. S. Lowry - is now played on rotation for visitors to The Lowry Gallery in Salford near Manchester.
